We invite children,
teenagers and adults to visit our Museum of Papermaking.
We guarantee
an interesting and educating programme. The museum
activities include:
- A short history outline
of paper and paper factory in
Jeziorna. The guide presents the history of paper.
We learn where the paper comes from, what materials
were used to write on before the invention of
paper, we hear about the history of our paper
factory and see a mock-up of our plant. The aerial
view over the whole plant makes it possible to
see the route of the trip - from the Museum, through
the site of the Plant, to the Paper Moulding Plant.
-
Presentation
of the modern production technology of paper.
In the production plant visitors can see a paper
making machine and subsequent stages of paper
production: from the beginning, when the paper
mass is poured onto a mould, until the very end,
i.e. when paper is wound in 1-tonne rolls. Then
visitors see machines for processing paper.
- Practical activities, i.e. learn
how to mould paper yourself. Moulding of paper
is usually the most interesting part of the activities.
The moulding plant is situated in a monumental
building of 1894. Paper is moulded from cellulose
or waste paper mass. During the process visitors
learn about notions such as cellulose, waste paper,
mould, paper mass, watermark, as well as how both
of the materials (cellulose and waste paper) are
obtained in Poland.
During the activity every participant
moulds two sheets of paper: one with flower petals
sealed in, the other with the application of dyes.
It is possible to learn how watermarks are produced
on paper! Paper moulded in hand is placed on specially
prepared felts, one on another, and then the excess
of water is pressed out on a press. Then paper is
dried in special electric dryers.
Every participant
receives their own sheets of paper as a souvenir.
